The Iberian Pig is an autochthonous livestock, indigenous within the Southern part of the Iberian Peninsula.
Organic livestock husbandry conserves and exploits this esteemed breed which is perfectly adapted to the living conditions of the Mediterranean evergreen Forest, the Dehesa. The robust animals seem to be specifically created for this life below the expansive, shade giving tree tops of the holm-, cork- and Portuguese oaks. The Iberian Pig stands for a perfect synthesis of nature and livestock husbandry.

Traditionally the pigs grow on pasture and are finally fattened in extensive free range rearing - during the so called montanera - with acorns. Organic livestock husbandry guarantees animal welfare in their natural surrounding as well as healthy and natural nourishment, adequate for this species: grass, herbs, natural cereals and - what makes them so special - the acorns

In organic livestock husbandry we combine the information on traditional husbandry, breeding and fattening with the knowledge of natural and homeopathic medicine and the most recent methods of quality management and control.
